I would suggest you to try to manually reset the Windows Updates Components and check if it helps.
Please follow the below steps to reset the Windows Updates Components:
1. Press Windows Key + X on the keyboard and then select “Command Prompt (Admin)” from the menu.
2. Stop the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services . To do this, type the following commands at a command prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
net stop wuauserv
net stop cryptSvc
net stop bits
net stop msiserver
3. Now rename the SoftwareDistribution and Catroot2 folder. You can do this by typing the following commands in the Command Prompt. Press the “ENTER” key after you type each command.
ren C:\Windows\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
ren C:\Windows\System32\catroot2 Catroot2.old
4. Now, let’s restart the BITS, Cryptographic, MSI Installer and the Windows Update Services . Type the following commands in the Command Prompt for this. Press the ENTER key after you type each command.
net start wuauserv
net start cryptSvc
net start bits
net start msiserver
5. Type Exit in the Command Prompt to close it.
Now you may try running the Windows Updates and check if the above steps resolve the issue.

The proposed solution didn't work for me either. I'm running Windows 10 Pro on 32-bit machine and ended up having to do a system restore and having to reinstal previous updates because the update component was hanging. Any other suggestions, please?Report abuse

Even the window update troubleshooter fixed a problem state that the window update component must be repaired but still having the same error when installing the update.Report abuse

The Windows Update Troubleshooter found a problem and it was repaired. However, nothing has changed. Nevermind.

Нормуль можно ставить --это обнова для защитника виндовс, короче от вирусов.

если лицуха, то ставить можно, свою я не обновляю, скачан комплект обнов без проверки на вшивость и достаточно, слетит активация

обновление защитника винды.. . особо он не нужен, но и плохого от него не будет.

Это не вопрос. . Если Microsoft предлагает поставить - ставь. И не выбирай, ставь всё, что предлагают, от этого не убудет, только в плюсе останешься. А лицензия или нет - не важно. если активатор хороший его никакая проверка не возьмёт.
Если не хочешь потом при включении компа читать надпись - ваша винда не прошла проверку на подлинность, не обновляйся. Подожди официальный сервис пак и потом уже всё станет одним махом:)
ноут ASUS с Вин 7 скачал это обновление, оно снесло почти все функции от ASUS настроеные на включение синей клавишей Fn некоторые перестали работать вообще в некоторых пропала анимация и встала видимо родная от винды где то в углу экрана, например увеличение или уменьшение громкости или яркости экрана .сделал востановление системы с точки до этого обновления, считаю оно нафиг не нужно .Поддержка гаджетов для вин 7 прекращена они и рады стараться удалять все подряд стороннее .

Сверил. У меня больше обновлений, сейчас будем разбираться, что к чему.
1) KB2553092 заменено на KB2825640.
2) KB2810066 заменено на KB2837587.
3) KB2881028 заменено на KB2889828.
4) KB2880526 почему-то два раза в списке. Возможно для SharePoint Designer 2010 имелось в виду KB2810069?
5) В итоге у меня получается на семь обновлений больше, если не считать указанных выше.
