Update - Before trying anything else. Download and install the latest version of FL Studio from here. Your bug may be fixed already!
Update plugins - If you are using 3rd party plugins. Look at crash logs for their names. Install the latest version for any you spot. See also Plugins Behaving Badly
Simple clear explanation - Explain what you are doing, or trying to do, and exactly what is happening.
Specific information - a) FL Studio version & build number, b) what you are doing and what happens exactly, c) step-by-step instructions how reproduce the problem.
Screenshots - Another great way to demonstrate issues. Get a free screenshot app here. Include images using the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
A video - The best way of demonstrating many issues. Windows 10 includes an integrated screen recorder, see here OR get a free free recorder here. Include mp4 videos to your post from the 'Attachments' tab, at the bottom of the post edit window.
Use English - Google Translate your post. Short simple sentences in your original language translate best. We are happy to work this way, no need to worry.

Open projects saved in trial mode

Hello Forum members,

I recently updated my FL Studio to version 20.1.something and then I worked on one of my projects. The moment I saved it, it told me that I need to register to re-open the project. I did that today but the thing is:
How can I re-open the project I worked on yesterday?
I see that in the folder I saved it in there is a file called v12.flp

which is exactly the one I saved yesterday but I don't know how to re-open it.
Can somebody please help me?

This method can be used to unlock FL Studio from trial for the first time or after purchasing new plugins or after updating/upgrading FL Studio.
The procedure is the same on all supported operating systems.

1. Make sure you can sign in to your Image-Line Account - Click here to test it. You will need to access your account from the ‘About’ panel in FL Studio to unlock it.

2. Unlock/update FL Studio - Open FL Studio and from the top-left menus select 'HELP' (or '?' in FL Studio 12) then 'About. ',

3. At the bottom of the list. On the ‘About’ click 'Unlock FL Studio'. NOTE: FL Studio versions prior to 20.7.3 have the Account unlock method shown directly on the About panel.

4. Enter your Image-Line Account email and password under the 'Unlock with account' section .

5. After a short wait, be patient, you will see another pop-up ‘ The registration succeeded ’.

6. Restart FL Studio - FL Studio must be restarted to complete the process.

To unlock a computer without internet access, you use 'Unlock with file', see the instructions below.

To unlock FL Studio on a computer WITHOUT Internet access (or if the above method is not working)

This method unlocks FL Studio using a 'FLRegkey.Reg' file. Download the file from your Image-Line Account , on a computer WITH Internet access and use it on the computer WITHOUT internet access:

1. Download the 'FLRegkey.Reg' file from your Image-Line Account on a computer or device with Internet access.

2. Copy the 'FLRegkey.Reg' file to your non-internet connected computer (or to the computer where the about panel login method does not work).

3. Unlock/update FL Studio - Open FL Studio and from the top-left menus select 'HELP' (or '?' in FL Studio 12) then 'About. ', at the bottom of the list. On the ‘About’ click ‘Unlock FL Studio ’. NOTE: FL Studio versions prior to 20.7.3 have the Unlock with file method shown directly on the About panel.

4. Click 'Load license file' and browse to the saved 'FLRegkey.Reg' file, select it and accept. After a short wait, be patient, you will see another pop-up ‘ The registration succeeded ’

5. Restart FL Studio - FL Studio must be restarted to complete the process.

NOTE: FL Studio versions prior to 20.7.3 have the License and File unlock methods shown directly on the About panel.

How do I get an account? - See How to set up an Image-Line Account. Only necessary if you haven't registered your box to your Account.

Unlock purchased products - The same unlock system as used on the FL Studio About panel (see below).
Fix detected problems - Some issues can be automatically fixed. If these are detected you can use the option.
Reset FL Studio settings - Restores all FL Studio settings to the default state.
Reset DPI Scaling - Resets FL Studios scaling to the default. This can be useful where a setting prevents FL Studio from launching correctly.
I have a technical problem - Uploads the diagnostic results to Techsupport and allows you to create a post. This feature is only available to registered FL Studio owners.

Only paint changed rectangles - When this option is turned on then the user interface will only repaint the areas of windows that have changed. This can fix screens or windows showing red. When it is OFF then the whole window will always repaint. Set this to ON, unless you experience graphical glitches.
Wait for VSync - When this option is turned on then FL Studio will wait for the next vertical refresh period of your computers monitor before repainting. Set this to ON unless you experience graphical glitches.

Use PBO - Allow FL Studio to use the PBO OpenGL extension for faster graphical updates. Set to Auto to allow FL Studio to decide when to use it. If you experience slow screen updates then experiment with setting this to ON or OFF.
Use Layers - Not used in FL Studio 20.1.2 and later.

Remove the plugin that crashed when project was saved - The Diagnostic Tool will attempt to detect a problematic plugin and remove it. If this method fails, use the method below.
Remove a plugin that crashes when file is opened - Select and remove plugins that you suspect may be causing problems in your project. NOTE: Third party plugins are only identified as 'Fruity Wrapper', so this option will require trial and error to remove a specific plugin from the project.
