Here is the 5.05a firmware update for 22** series SandForce based drives. This includes the Force 3, Force GT, Force GS, and the GB2B and GB2B R/F series only.

Important Notes Before Updating:

If you are stable and do not have issues, we suggest that you do not flash your firmware.

This update is intended to not be destructive. However, we strongly urge that you back up any important data before beginning this procedure.

Be sure to download the correct update file for your drive. Many complaints we have seen were the result of downloading the wrong file for your drive.

This update has been validated for use with Windows 7. It has not been validated with Windows Vista and Windows XP however it may work with these OS's. Users are encouraged to update the drives with Windows 7 when possible.

This update tool is intended to be run with the drive controller in AHCI mode. If your drive controller is not AHCI enabled and your update fails, you will need to change it to AHCI mode and also enable AHCI in your OS registry. Here is page with a guide for ENABLING AHCI.

If you have issues updating using the Microsoft AHCI driver, you may need to update using the latest driver from your drive controller manufacturer. The reverse is also true. If you have issues updating using the latest drivers from your controller manufacturer, we suggest you try the latest MS AHCI driver.

Our latest testing is only with Intel and AMD drive controllers. The update may not work with 3rd party drive controllers. The update will not work on a controller that is in RAID mode. This applies to SATA2 and SATA3 controllers.

DO NOT at any time power off your system during this procedure. This may “brick” your drive.

After your update if you still have issues, we strongly recommend the following steps:

Complete clearing of the BIOS. This is a good idea after any firmware flash of any device.
Secure erase the SSD. For some users, cloning of the drive works, for others it does not. This may be dependent upon the cloning tool used.
A clean installation of the OS if you experience instability after a BIOS clearing and secure erase.

UPDATE YOUR BIOS. As always for users with issues, we recommend that you update your motherboard/notebook to the most recent BIOS before attempting to flash your firmware. This may or may not resolve your issue but it is an excellent first step. Quite a few boards/notebooks have been given SSD specific updates over the past few months.

Ignore any terms in the firmware file name relating to Micron, Intel, etc. This has no bearing on the upgrade. You need only match the SIGNATURE as noted in the .PDF file.

Be sure to download the correct version for your drive. We have had people complaining that our files are wrong only to find that they downloaded the wrong file.

Note: The PDF is labeled as the 1.3.3 version but you can ignore this. The procedure is the same for the 5.05a update.

CORSAIR iCUE - фирменное программное обеспечение, позволяющее настраивать и управлять периферийными устройствами и подсветкой от CORSAIR. С помощью одной программы вы сможете централизованно настроить мыши, клавиатуры, вентиляторы, наушники, а также управлять подсветкой комплектующих и вентиляторов производства CORSAIR.

Управление подсветкой позволяет настраивать цветовые оттенки и эффекты как для отдельных устройств, так создавать общие цветовые схемы, которые будут применяться для всей подсветки. Также, можно создавать профили поведения для отдельных приложений или игр, подстраивая RGB-подсветку под события на экране или определённые действия.

Список изменений в прошивке 5.0.2 совпадает для всех дисков, это практически те же исправления, которые получают диски других производителей на SandForce 2000 (например, OCZ Agility 3 2.15 и Vertex 3 2.15). Устранена проблема со слабым сигналом в интерфейсах SATA 2.0/3.0, что в свою очередь приводило к различным ошибкам, включая невозможность выхода из спящих режимов, невозможность подключения на максимальной скорости SATA 6 Гбит/с, самопроизвольное отключение диска. Также исправлена ошибка, когда форматирование RAID1 с картой PMC-Sierra BR-8 HBA занимало много времени.

Будьте осторожны при обновлении, для диска каждого объема прошивки отличаются, причем они отличаются и в зависимости от серии диска! Посмотреть серию можно в фирменной утилите перепрошивки, последние цифры будут совпадать с номером в имени файла с образом firmware (см. картинку).

Обновление не деструктивное, данные на диске пострадать не должны. Успех перепрошивки обещан в Windows 7, производитель не утрудился протестировать процедуру в Windows XP и Windows Vista, хотя сообщает, что должно бы получиться и там. Дисковый контроллер должен быть переключен в режим AHCI, в случае проблем рекомендуется сменить драйвер на стандартный Microsoft AHCI или наоборот, на драйвер Intel/AMD. На контроллерах в режиме RAID обновление невозможно.

В архиве с утилитой Corsair SSD Field Update Tool находится PDF-файл с иллюстрированным руководством по перепрошивке в формате PDF. В целом процедура выглядит так: запустить прошивальщик, отметить галочкой желаемый диск, нажать кнопку «Update Firmware», выбрать правильный образ с прошивкой, согласиться с предупреждением, подождать окончания процесса (должен занять порядка 10 секунд), нажать «Rescan For Drives» и убедиться в наличии у диска новой версии прошивки.

We have provided a detailed help file which can be accessed by clicking on the question mark symbol shown here circled in red on the upper left side of the screen. This help file gives detailed information on each function of the SSD toolbox. Clicking the question mark will open the help file in a browser.

Your main screen at launch shows the drive information of single drives attached to the system. Other drives will appear in the drive information window but core functionality is restricted to authorized Corsair SSDs. RAID volumes will not be seen as single drives as the tool cannot address them individually. The "i" symbol will show you the toolbox version number and license agreement. The circular arrows will refresh the tool.

Individual drive information is shown in the center of the main window. When your SSD controller is in AHCI mode, you can update your SSD firmware from this page using the button circled in red below. The firmware update requires AHCI mode. AMD/nVidia chipset systems may require different storage drivers for proper operation. USB connected SSD drives must use SAT-capable cables/enclosures that support ATA/SAT-pass-through.

After you select firmware update the tool will scan your drive and check for firmware updates. If there is an update available, the dialogue will prompt you to update the firmware or cancel the operation.

Note: Firmware updates can only be executed when the SSD controller is in AHCI mode. Firmware updating via this toolbox is enabled for The Corsair Series Force 3, Force Series GT, Force Series GS, Neutron Series, and Neutron Series GTX SSDs. Earlier and EOL Corsair drives with firmware updates can be updated manually using the tools supplied on our website.

The next screen will prompt you to backup your data before updating your firmware. The updates are intended to be non-destructive but we strongly encourage users to back up any critical data before performance a firmware update. If you wish to continue, press Apply.

Once your drive is updated, close the toolbox window using the close button.

Note: Corsair recommends that users update their OS drive as attached storage when possible. Some systems will require the SSD to be disconnected briefly before the new firmware version will appems will require the SSD to be disconnected briefly before the new firmware versih the column of buttons down the left side of the toolbox. Corsair is now producing SSDs that do not have factory overprovisioning. For users that desire to manually overprovision their drives, we have provided a function for this. Overprovisioning your drive can contribute to maintaining better performance and adding longevity to your SSD.

We have a disk cloning feature under development. At the time of this article, this feature is not complete but it is expected along very soon. For now as you can see, it's under construction. This feature will allow users to easily clone to and from their Corsair SSDs.

Users have asked for a feature to allow them to manually send a TRIM command to their drives and to also schedule a TRIM operation so that they can optimize their SSD's performance.

SSD users also occasionally have need to perform a secure erase operation. The tool allows for this in one easy step.
