People actually want a Linux port of this. If you wish to appeal to developers you have to create it, just saying.

I work with ubuntu and can't customize the keyboard and mouse buttons.

Hi @Vicente Jr Venus?, for me it's just like @Peter Sjöqvist? said. I want to add that I would also like to know about the development of this situation. I got recommended the MX master as one of the best there is for productivity and bought it. As I work on linux (ubuntu 16 to be precise), I'm really disappointed I can't customize the configuration on my mouse.

Feels like you go the extra mile with the hardware, but without the software, this mouse is almost just like any other, and cheaper, ones.

I'm really hoping to get an answer soon. Thanks for the help.

I'm also on ubuntu and kubuntu, and have found a relatively simple way to remap the MX Master 2s buttons and especially the horizontal scrollwheel to something else using xinput set-button-map (or writing a conf file to make it permanent) and xbindkeys, the thumb button can't be remapped but it presses ctrl+alt+tab so you can just set that hotkey to do something, the shift-scroll button is also unmappable, fortunately I really like its original function, gestures also don't work. if you are using the unifying receiver you can use solaar to set the dpi, just make sure to get the latest version from their git page, but if you are on bluetooth there is no way to change the dpi :/ it's a shame though. COME ON LOGITECH, A SMALL DRIVER TO SET THE DPI, THAT'S ALL I'M ASKING FOR

F.Y.I. Linux does have an app for Unifying receivers and it's called 'Solaar'. I use it to setup all my logitech devices, and even to pair multiple devices to one receiver. If you're on ubuntu you can apt-get install it, and I believe you can get the tar for other distro's. gives full control of function/hotkeys etc.

I switched from a 10 years old MX Revolution to a MX Master 2s for my work.

I heavily use linux OS for my softwares development and would love to bind all the keys available on this mouse to improve my work

i'm currently using Ubuntu 16.04 but i will switch soon to 18.04.

I hope Logitech Options will soon be available on linux since the main reason of my purchase is the thumb button that is ingenious !

For now i'm using Solaar and xbindkeys to rebind the thumb wheel but that's all i can do.

(i would like to rebind the button behind the mouse wheel, i would like to do some combo with the thumb button, etc)

Logitech Unifying Receiver
